Welcome Frugalistas! I’m glad you’ve found my website and want to find out more about frugalfirstclasstravel and what makes it tick.
Travel is about a lot of things depending on who you are and what is important to you. For some people seeing a list of “must see” highlights and typical cultural activities that they can tick off is. Frugalfirstclasstravel is designed for travelers who may want to go up the Eiffel Tower and see a flamenco show, but who also want to be an honorary local – go to the market, eat where the locals eat, travel how the locals travel – and immerse themselves in a new and different way of living and being part of something “foreign” but wonderful and exciting!
The Frugalfirstclasstravel philosophy is to travel in the most luxurious way we can afford, at the cheapest price – spending money on the things that are important to us, but saving money on the things that are less important.
We work out what is really important to us and how to have the most frugal of trips without scrimping on comfort, safety, ambiance, and enjoyment. We eat great local, seasonal food, stay in great character filled places and see great things – every holiday we have is the trip of a lifetime, whether it is a quick 10 day getaway or a 6 month “once in a lifetime, do it all and see it all”.
Frugalfirstclasstravel is also about meaningful moments, rather than tourist-ridden clichés, is about traveling with all five of our senses, and is a state of mind.
Frugalfirstclasstravellers are not what class of the plane we travel in and what star hotel we stay in – we are about what brings us great joy, what delights our senses and what still leaves us with money in the bank when we get home! We are into comfort and safety, meeting people and enjoying life in Europe.
We enjoy a couture, bespoke and highly personalized way of travelling – just not at a couture price.

Hi, thanks so much for stopping by and following my blog. I’m really glad you enjoyed it. Travelling first class on a budget sounds like a marvellous plan. My human says she will enjoy catching up on your posts… thankfully I don’t worry about the cost as I travel in a bag or pocket – usually undetected 🙂
Very best wishes,
p.m.
Oh, this is a fantastic site. May I put in a link on our blog roll on twodifferentgirls.com?
Yes, I would love you to!
I’m going to set up a Links I Love page on mine in the next couple of weeks, so will return the favour of course!
Thanks for your kind feedback and offer
I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoy your blog. Finding ways to see the world without breaking the bank has been an interest of mine for the past few years and I’m always looking for new tips and tricks 🙂
Also…I’ve nominated you for the Liebster Award. The post is on my page with the details and instructions. Don’t feel like you “have” to do it though…it’s totally optional, and just a way of saying thanks for having an enjoyable blog 🙂
Cheers,
Sarah
Thanks so much Sarah. I’ve left a proper response on your post. I’m really grateful for your kind thoughts, and it’s always lovely to read that another blogger admires your work.
I love the idea of seeking out a little bit of luxury whilst on a budget – whilst I’m definitely on a budget (as a student traveler!) I’m a big believer in saving up & finding great deals to “do it right” – no point scrimping & saving so much that you don’t even enjoy the place like it’s meant to be enjoyed!
Love your blog & looking forward to reading more!
Thanks for joining in Sarah! Welcome aboard!
It’s great to find lots of tips and advice instead of the usual travel memoirs and travel diary entries. Wonderful!
Thanks for joining in. I’m glad you enjoy it. I write about destinations as well, and can tend towards the vaguely philosophical (see my post on the Sagrada Familia for example) from time to time. At the end of the day though I started my blog to provide practical advice, and that’s what I’ve stuck to.
Namaste…I look forward to following you on your travels 🙂 Lakshmi
Thanks Lakshmi. Welcome!
I am sure we are frugalistas, because we want to be a part of it all. That’s not to say We don’t want to see iconic things, we do. We travel to learn and to undestand our similarities and differences. And we are loving every second of it.
That, indeed we are!! Thank you for dropping by!
Love this concept and can’t wait to read more!
I have enjoyed exploring your wonderful blog. And have nominated you for ‘Very Inspiring Blogger Award’ – http://travel-defined.com/2015/01/19/very-inspiring-blogger-award/
Happy Travels !!
Thanks Vasudha! I don’t participate in Award shares, but thank you so much for the thought.
Thank you for thinking of me – much appreciated!
